Your impact

You’re a Chartered Civil Engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality drainage design solutions in the transportation and urban infrastructure sectors. You bring deep technical expertise, particularly in the Irish market, and thrive in a leadership role where you can mentor others and shape the direction of multidisciplinary projects. You’re confident working with clients and approval authorities, and you’re ready to take the lead on complex drainage challenges across a diverse portfolio of projects.

You’re collaborative, proactive, and driven by innovation and excellence. You’re also comfortable working in a multi-office, international environment and are excited by the opportunity to influence major infrastructure developments across Ireland and beyond.

You’ll be based in Dublin or the surrounding area, with the flexibility to work from home and the expectation to be in the office or on client sites at least three days per week.

As Drainage Discipline Lead, you will play a pivotal role in leading a geographically diverse team (Ireland, UK, and global offices), delivering drainage design services across all project stages. You’ll be the go-to expert for drainage design on highways and urban infrastructure projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with Irish standards. You’ll also support the development of junior engineers and contribute to the strategic growth of our drainage capability.

Here’s what you’ll need

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
  • Based in Ireland (Dublin or surrounding area preferred)
  • Extensive experience in drainage design for highways and urban environments
  • Strong knowledge of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) standards and the SuDS Manual and other drainage guidance
  • Proven experience obtaining design approvals from Irish authorities
  • Proficiency in drainage modelling software and tools
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across teams and with clients
