Finance Student Administrator

The Finance Student Administrator will provide practical administrative and financial support to the Finance Department while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This flexible opportunity is designed for students studying Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline who want to build real-world skills alongside their academic studies.

Specific Job Details:

  • Position Title: Finance Student Administrator (Part-Time Student Opportunity)
  • Department: Finance
  • Contract: Casual, with working days and hours aligned to the college calendar
  • Working Pattern: Typically 1.5–2 days per week during the academic term, with the opportunity to work additional hours during Christmas, Easter, summer holidays, and other college breaks, subject to business needs and student availability
  • Location: Centric Health Support Office, Floor 7, Intact (RSA) House, Sandyford Road, Dundrum, Dublin 16

Key Responsibilities

Financial Administration & Support

  • Maintain accurate financial records, databases, spreadsheets, and supporting documents.
  • Provide data entry, filing, scanning, document management, and general administrative support.
  • Assist with financial reports, schedules, reconciliations, accounts processing, expense administration, and month-end follow-up under appropriate supervision.
  • Collate and check information from Finance colleagues, business teams, and practice locations.

AI & Digital Business Support

  • Use Microsoft Copilot and other approved corporate tools to draft, summarise, organise data, prepare first-pass analysis, and improve administrative efficiency.
  • Identify repetitive tasks that could benefit from templates, automation, or AI-supported workflows, and help document improved processes.
  • Review and verify all AI-generated outputs and use AI only through approved systems, following confidentiality, data protection, security, approval, and human-oversight requirements.

Team Collaboration & Contribution

  • Work collaboratively with Finance colleagues, participate in meetings, and support ad-hoc projects through research, data gathering, and basic analysis.
  • Handle financial and business information professionally and confidentially.
  • Suggest practical improvements that increase the accuracy and efficiency of routine processes.

Learning & Development

  • Gain exposure to accounts processing, reconciliations, reporting, month-end activity, financial systems, controls, and approved corporate AI tools.
  • Apply academic learning to real business situations while strengthening Excel, analytical, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Learn from experienced finance professionals through coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Currently studying Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline, with at least the first year completed.
  • Available approximately 1.5–2 days per week during term and, where possible, additional hours during college holidays.
  • Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and an interest in AI-enabled productivity, automation, and digital improvement.
  • Strong organisation, communication, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, professional, eager to learn, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
